Low & High Temperature Diverting Agent - Shale Gas Fracturing Chemical Manufacturer

Diverting Agent
Low & High Temperature Diverting Agent for Shale Gas Fracturing
Diverting Agent

Hydraulic fracturing is technique for the development of shale oil and gas resources. Hydraulic fracturing is a safe, proven technology that has been used decades to increase production of oil and gas. However, production rates from these keeps declining after a year or so. A well may be re-fracked every one to two years of operation to stimulate production. Refracturing is a technique to offset declining production rates and provide a sustainable increase in production. Fractures are opened by acid treatment. Once an area of fracture is open, acid keeps flowing in the same path. Diverting agent is suspension of graded solids used during acidizing of an oil reservoir to temporarily block off the most permeable sections and to force the acid into less permeable sections. Diverting agents this way distribute flow more evenly along the well-bore. When diverting agent is deposited, a cake forms with an associated permeability. Flow is diverted from the fractures where diverting agent gets deposited because of greater resistance to flow. The diverting agent degrades with time at reservoir temperature so that the gas keeps flowing. For good performance, the diverting agent must be practically insoluble in water at room temperature and must degrade with time at bottom hole temperatutre.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT OFFERED

High Temperature Diverting Agent:
DA-355 is a high molecular weight polymer designed to be used as a flow diverting agent for use in stimulation applications in oil and gas fractures. DA-355 can be used with acids, linear & cross linked gels and slick-water for high temperature applications.

DA-355 is used for sealing perforations, existing fractures and natural fractures. It can be used to protect producing zones during work-over operations. It permits treatment of zones with porosity differences and separates the total treatment zone into stages. DA-355 diverting agent is offered in tight particle size distributions like 10/30, 30/70, 70/120 or mixtures thereof. Larger sized particles permit bridging and smaller sized particles bridge across the larger particles, forming a low permeability zone.

DA-355 is extremely poorly soluble in water below 140 deg F. At formation temperatures above 175 deg F, DA-355 will hydrolyze in to water and condensate soluble products. Typical half life of DA-355 is 2 weeks at bottom hole conditions.

DA-355 will bridge perforations and slots as wide as 0.35 inches. Typical usage is between 10 to 20 lbs per perforation.

BENEFITS
Helps distribute treating fluids uniformly in the zone
Helps control gels to perform multiple fractures
Dissolves completely post treatment, leaving no residue behind
Can be used up to 180°C or 355°F Bottom Hole Temperatures

TYPICAL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES - SPECIFICATIONS

Low Temperature Diverting Agent
DA-LT is a diverting agent for use in stimulation applications. DA-LT can be used with acids, linear gels and slickwater for high temperature applications. Compatibility tests are needed with cross-linked gels, as DA-LT might delay the crosslinking time.

DA-LT is used for sealing existing fractures and natural fractures. It can be used to protect producing zones during workover operations. It permits treatment of zones with porosity differences and separates the total treatment zone into stages. DA-LT diverting agent is offered in tight particle size distributions or mixtures thereof. Larger sized particles permit bridging and smaller sized particles bridge across the larger particles, forming a low permeability zone.

DA-LT is extremely poorly soluble in water below 90 deg F. At formation temperatures between 90 and 175 deg F, DA-LT will slowly dissolve in water and condensate.

DA-LT will soon be offered in a PSD for re-fracs, to bridge perforations and slots as wide as 0.35 inches.

DA-LT is added on the fly, be offered in a PSD for re-fracs, to bridge perforations and slots as wide as 0.35 inches.

BENEFITS
Helps distribute treating fluids uniformly in the zone
Helps control fluid distribution to perform multiple fractures
Dissolves completely post treatment, leaving no residue behind
Can be used up to 150 deg F BHT

PACKAGING
25kg or 50kg or 50 lb bags; 1000kg or 1,000 lb super-sacks

COMPATIBILITY
DA-355 is compatible with all known frac fluids. A compatibility test is advised before use with anionic and amphoteric additives.
